Banking chipcards in the Netherlands- one or two systems?
Article Abstract:
Two competing banking chipcard systems were introduced in the Netherlands using a technology that is characterized by mechanisms leading to increasing returns. However, the case description of the Dutch chipcard is described in relation to the Dutch bank, Postbank's decision to finally return to one common technology.

The National Infrastructure that includes communications, power, transportation, banking, water supply and public institutions depend on interconnected computer systems to operate properly. By exploiting the strengths and weaknesses in its architecture, the hostile groups are threatening this National Infrastructure.
