Article Abstract:

The link between leadership and psychological empowerment was examined using a sample of mid-level supervisors from a Fortune 500 organization. Results showed that empowered supervisors were considered to be more innovative, more adept at influencing bosses and more inspirational to subordinates. As such, the results affirm the view that psychological empowerment enhances leadership skills, makes supervisors less focused on maintaining the status quo and promotes organizational change.
