Exploring cultural issues in Puerto Rican homelessness

Article Abstract:

The incidences, causes and demographic characteristics of homeless people in Puerto Rican and San Juan are explored and compared with the help of existing data about homeless single adults who shelter in these two cities. The cultural issues that potentially inspire definitions, attitudes and responses toward social phenomena are discussed.

Personality and culture revisited: linking traits and dimensions of culture

Article Abstract:

The taxonomies of personality traits and cultural values developed independently since 1980 have created new possibilities for exploring the culture and personality in the first half of the 20th century. The environmental and temperamental explanations for associations are discussed, and directions for future research are suggested.

Mapping the ethnic landscape: Personal beliefs about own group's and other groups' traits

Article Abstract:

A study examines individuals' personal beliefs about their own and other ethnic groups, along with indicators of in-group bias. In-group bias is found in five out of six cases, however, White Americans exhibited in-group derogation.
