Fort Archives: the national archives goes to war
Article Abstract:
Due to likelihood of total war in 1941, President Roosevelt realized that it was time to take necessary precautions and prepare the indispensable plans. The devastating conflict provided the National Archives with a positive opportunity to establish its identity, its importance to the government, and its value to the American people.

Creating the National Archives Experience
Article Abstract:
The National Archives Experience will be constructed from 2001-2003 as part of renovating the National Archives Building. This exhibit will feature military service records, land warrant files, and passenger arrival lists from ordinary US citizens, as well as mural restoration and new displays for the Charters of Freedom.
