Erotetic contextualism, data-generating procedures, and sociological explanations of social mobility
Article Abstract:
The ability of the erotetic model of explanation to discriminate significant from spurious explanation is criticized. Data-generating procedures of measuring occupational status and social mobility affect different aspects of one explanation, and these findings are used to meet objections to the erotetic model.
