The intergenerational transmission of age at first birth among married and unmarried men and women
Article Abstract:
This article examines the influence white mothers' backgrounds have on their children's premarital childbirth. The author maintains rates of premarital childbirth of young women are influenced by a number of factors, such as grandfather's occupation and mother's education and contraceptive use, whereas rates of premarital childbirth for young men seem to be influenced only by mother's education.

Article Abstract:
The changes in the intergenerational transmission of low- and high-income status over time among the sons is examined by comparing sons who were 11-15 years old in 1969 and sons with the same age in 1979. Results emphasize on the need for public investments for promotion of intergenerational mobility for prevention of economic polarization across income groups.
