From epistemology to the avant-grade: Marcel Duchamp and the sociology of knowledge in resonance
Article Abstract:
The argument that sociology of knowledge is described as a critical subfield of sociology and that the artist Marcel Duchamp is engaged in epistemologically analogous projects is presented. The analogy implies new ways of thinking about the institutional role of sociology of knowledge, the practice and epistemology of sociology, and the epistemic character of modernism.
