An analysis of the online marketing for gated communities in Canada reveals the highlighting of security, social interaction, good life, freedom form maintenance, homogeneity, privacy and exclusivity. Planners opose gated communtieis because they lack diversity, mixed uses, public open space and connected stret systems. Planners can work against the appeal of gated communities by providing better public security and local community meeting places.

Whaling and wages on Alaska's North Slope: a time allocation approach to natural resource use
Article Abstract:
Inuits on Alaska's North Slope are strongly influenced by economic incentives and tradition in their decisions to allocate time for subsistence. In fact, wage labor time appears to be inversely related to the time spent on subsistence. Additionally, Inuits also appear to give labor supply decisions the highest priority in comparison to subsistence harvest decisions.

Deteriorating environmental conditions greatly influence rural household that have not choice by to rely on environmental products. A study using Nepal Energy and Nutrition Survey indicates a better understanding of rural household and the environment is needed as the impact of commercialization increases.
