Long-term changes in the economic activity of older males in Korea
Article Abstract:
The analysis of the labor force participation (LFPR) rate of older males in Korea from 1955 through 2000 shows that it has increased to 53 to 55 percent in 1995 from the 40 to 44 percent LFPR rate in 1965. The rise in the LFPR rate is attributed to the dramatic increase in labor activity by the rural elderly population.
