Marketing to PHAs and CDs: Journal of Housing LAB
Article Abstract:
The 51st Annual Convention of NAHRO (the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials) to be held from October 13 to 16, 1985 in Miami Beach, Florida will provide manufacturers with a convenient site for marketing their products and services to public housing authorities and community development managers. NAHRO's Maintenance and Modernization Clinics to be held as part of the convention are intended to provide manufacturers with direct access to over 2,000 housing and redevelopment agency purchasers. An exhibition will be hosted by the NAHRO Manufacturers and Suppliers Council to allow housing and community development agencies to view the products of the manufacturers and discuss the services available from these marketers.

RTC affordable housing: a windfall for PHAs
Article Abstract:
The Resolution Trust Corp's (RTC) affordable housing program is enabling public housing authorities (PHAs) to meet the housing needs of low-income families. Aside from selling multifamily properties at cut-rate prices, the RTC has also donated hundreds of properties to PHAs nationwide. The RTC affordable housing program is expected to alleviate the current shortage of low-cost housing. The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities and the Low-Income Housing Information Service reported that, in 1989, the supply of affordable housing was 4.1 million short of the demand for it. What is attractive about RTC's program is that rents are about the same as rents in privately owned apartments, but they do not increase when the market improves.
