Toy story: a look into the gender-stereotyped world of childrens catalogs
Article Abstract:
Children's catalogs of major toy companies reveal a gender stereotyped perception at the center of their marketing strategy. Their attitude contradicts the gender-neutral way many modern parents choose to bring up their children. Cars, erector sets, and major outdoor sports equipment are targeted at boys, while dolls and domestic equipments are mostly targeted at girls. Dress up clothes and educational toys are also categorized in the same manner. The only toys meant for the use of both boys and girls are musical instruments and a few other gender-neutral equipment.

A sabbatical's lessons
Article Abstract:
A sexologist recounts how her sabbatical leave made her realize that sexology is truly her calling. She was also able to compare the sexual culture of European countries and found that the US's sexually-repressive policies contribute to the country's social problems regarding sexual health issues. Furthermore, her sabbatical leave made her understand the parallel teachings of the Bible and SIECUS's mission of disseminating information about sexuality.
