McCarthyism and philosophy in the United States
Article Abstract:
In John McCumber's latest publication "Time in the ditch: American philosophy and the McCarthy era, it is argued that John fails to justify answers to the questions raised in terms of the impact of academic philosophy in the United States. Some problems with McCumber's externalist account are discussed, and a brief sketch of a more plausible internalist account of the ascendancy of analytic philosophy is given with a contribution to a discussion of the long submerged issues raised by McCumber's book is attempted at.

Skepticist philosophy as ethnomethodology
Article Abstract:
Some of the loci of confusion in terms of ethnomethodology and conventional sociology are described, suggesting that they have a common root in their relationship. The critical debates concerning ethnomethodology, particularly with respect to its methodological radicalism and its relationship to conventional sociology are highlighted.

The characteristics of human sciences being biological ones and its symbolic approach to human behavior are examined. The tasks of human scientists and biologist in identifying the problems faced by the creatures externally or internally are also analyzed.
