Membership desertion as an adjustment process on Honduran agrarian reform enterprises
Article Abstract:
Agrarian reform programs in Honduras are directed towards the management and ownership of agricultural land by cooperative enterprises. The membership of these enterprises are steadily decreasing, a possible indication of inefficiency and poor management. The membership changes of 70 agrarian cooperatives were analyzed. It was concluded that membership decline was due to oversubscription. Some enterprises had too many members that could not be provided for and could not contribute to the cooperative's objectives.

Milk cows, migrants, and land markets: unraveling the complexities of forest-to-pasture conversion in northern Honduras
Article Abstract:
The rising rate of deforestation in Honduras is causing social and political unrest. Large dairy and grain farming entities are driving smaller farmers to the hills since the 1970s, where acute environmental damage results from agricultural grading of the steep slopes. Political connections between farming interests and government officials may foster increased rates of deforestation well into the future.

Albania's Radical Agrarian Reform
Article Abstract:
Albania's privatization of agriculture was driven by both economic and political structures. While many countries opted for gradual decollectivization, Albania rapidly distributed assets and land to rural households as its version of collectivism was marked by extreme inefficiencies and low incomes. Political instability also impeded collective farms' operations and production.
