Reaching the hip-hop generation with 'pro-social' behavior messages
Article Abstract:
Motivational Education Entertainment (MEE) has been researching urban African-American youth since the early 1990s, with a focus on the hip-hop generation. It has found that well-intentioned educational messages aimed at African-American youth are failing because they are based on several assumptions, such as there is a homogeneous street culture. Sexuality educators have to recognize that they are dealing with cross-cultural communication if they are to be successful in communicating at-risk messages to the hip-hop generation.

LAN connectivity: reaching out, reaching in
Article Abstract:
Local area network (LAN) connectivity allows organizations to maximize the use of their computer resources by allowing the interconnection of a computer network to other devices such as a CD-ROM or a fax server. LAN connectivity can also be used to access mini- and mainframe computers through terminal servers, to provide enhanced data security by permitting the storage of sensitive information in a central location, and to improve computer system cost-effectiveness through resources sharing.
