Article Abstract:
The author examines the politics of recognition within the context of postmodern or deconstructive theories, focusing on the model of intersubjectivity proposed by the philosopher Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel. Topics addressed include the relationship between self and Other, and the philosophy of Jean-Paul Sartre and Emmanuel Levinas.
