Sources of technical innovation in the network of companies providing chemical process plant and equipment
Article Abstract:
The role of equipment manufacturers and fabricators in technological innovation within a process industry is indicative of that industry's technological and economic maturity. The level of maturity is reflected in process facility design and operations and relationships between contractors and suppliers. Equipment manufacturers affect materials used in construction and control and inspection systems, while contractors have minimal use of technology transfer gains.

The innovation of agrochemicals: regulation and patent protection
Article Abstract:
Regulatory barriers associated with new product registration, the complicated patenting system and intense competition are factors that influence product innovation in the agrochemicals industry. Research-based companies increase their profitability by confronting generic competition through patenting, regulatory and marketing strategies. A longer-term shift to a biotechnology paradigm may also prove to be effective in fighting generic competition.
