The association between spatial cournot competition and central agglomeration is examined. Welfare entailments in location-quantity models in a symmetric linear city are probed for the analysis.

Should diesel cars in Europe be discouraged?

The research indicates that ownership taxes on diesel-fuel automobiles should be raised in Europe to reflect the social cost of pollution from diesel engines, as compared to gasoline.
