Teams as learners: a research-based model of team learning

Article Abstract:

Organizational literature heralds the value of team learning but does not provide a research-based description of it. This article describes a model of team learning that was derived empirically from case studies in two companies, one with a cross section of employees in a petrochemical company and the second in a data-processing unit that had been reorganized into self-managed teams in a manufacturing company. The authors draw conclusions about changes in learning processes, conditions, and perceptions of time and explore research implications regarding human dynamics. College set for on-site demonstration

Article Abstract:

The Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is financing a three year demonstration project for the diversion of food scraps to an on-site composting system at the Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. The Green Mountain Technologies will be supplying 10 mini CompTainer units to the college by Feb 1997, which will become operational in Mar 1997. The college will submit progress reports to the DEP at the end of each semester. The compost will be used for landscaping, gardening, greenhouse and research applications.

Using A Circular Saw

Article Abstract:

Advice on how to best use a circular saw is detailed. Prior to using the saw, the user should conduct a safety inspection to make sure that the cord is in good condition and that the blade is sharp. Techniques for cutting plywood and sheet wood into a variety of configurations are offered.
