The contingent effect of constructive confrontation on the relationship between shared mental models and decision quality
Article Abstract:
Work teams are often used by organizations in order to provide access to the broader knowledge and skill base of employees. It is hypothesized that constructive confrontation norms are an important contingency variable in the relationship between decision quality and mental mode similarity. It is concluded that teams are able to reap the benefits of conflict when these norms are in place.
