The impact of HIV on women: gynecology, pregnancy, and family planning considerations

Article Abstract:

An increasing number of women actually have AIDS but literature on the effects of AIDS/HIV on them are very few. Health care providers and policy-makers often overlook women because of the misconception that they are unaffected by the disease. Also, medicine has not offered measures to safeguard efficient and accurate diagnosis of their conditions. Gynecological manifestations that could be symptoms of HIV and which could deteriorate with HIV infection are presented. Women are urged to practice safe sexual behavior and reproductive choices with the help of societal services.
