Article Abstract:

Immanuel Wallerstein study of the sixteenth century has helped sociology stay abreast with the globalization of the world economy. He puts forth a continuous and precise system of core periphery relation for the world in his book, 'The Modern World-System: Capitalist Agriculture and the Origins of the European World Economy in the Sixteenth Century, vol. 1.' He extends the concept of development and underdevelopment and uses it for historical analysis. Place, the speed of communication, and time became important factors in sociological research.
