The sexuality education programs of religious groups and denominations
Article Abstract:
Many religious groups and denominations are developing sexuality education programs specifically aimed at young people and their familes, although most of the programs are not mandated within congregations. Also they can differ on certain issues, such as abortion, contraception and nonmarital sexual intercourse. Some sexuality education curricula and studies currently available are reviewed. These include the Family Life Education, A Course for Parents program at the American Baptist Churches, and Before They Ask: Talking About Sex From a Christian Perspective at The United Methodist Church.

When 'The Public Eye' met a private institution's program: taking sexuality education out of context
Article Abstract:
Unitarian Universalist church members decried the attack by CBS Television Network's 'The Public Eye with Bryant Gumbel' TV program on the Unitarian Universalist Assn's 26-year-old sexuality education program for junior high youth. The program questioned the validity of the association's program's use of visual components and exploited general public discomfiture regarding sexuality to tell a 'shocking tale.' The attack by 'Public Eye' stemmed from a local controversy in Concord, MA.
