US foundations and racial reasoning in Brazil

Article Abstract:

The role played by US foundations in shaping the academic field of race relations and African American social movements in Brazil is examined. A dated understanding of the academic literature and public opinion on race in Brazil is revealed as the US foundation in Brazil fails to understand the programming decisions that are made within the foundations.
