Using virtual reality technology in organizational behavior research

Article Abstract:

Virtual technology can be used to manipulate the field variables in a laboratory environment. It can also be a substitute dynamic research method for static or one-time assessment approaches. However, the technology has disadvantages in that it causes users to have sopite syndrome, a simulation sickness similar to motion sickness. Another of its disadvantages is the cost. High resolution full color head-mounted displays can now be bought from $50,000 to $80,000.

Enhancing the relevance of organizational behavior by embracing performance management research

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to examine the occurrence of science-practice gap in organizational behavior (OB), wherein entire bodies of scholarly knowledge are ignored by practitioners. The research needed in order to improve performance management practices, which will subsequently enhance the relevance of OB in the eyes of practitioners, is also discussed.
