The demand for domestic output and imports in the U.K.: a dynamic systems approach
Article Abstract:
A flexible dynamic demand model based on a simultaneous equation ensures consistency in analyzing the joint determination of the final expenditure between different types of domestic output and imports in Britain. The existence of spillover effects from categories supports the use of a systems approach. Marginal expenditure elasticities were found on different categories. Further disaggregation of the individual expenditure categories may improve current results.
