Soviet immigrants to Israel: users and non-users of social work services
Article Abstract:
A survey of 390 Russian jew families residing in Haifa, Israel, and the northern region of the country revealed that most of them do not or are reluctant to seek social assistance. One of the reasons is that most new and some older Russian families in Israel have no information about the Israeli social service system. Other factors for their resistance to seek social assistance include language limitations and failure and disappointments with the first attempts at seeking help.
