Attributional mediation of in-group bias

Article Abstract:

Research presented concerns in-group biases and attribution theory, wherein subjects attribute positive behaviors to members of their in-group. The study examined attributional biases among Blacks and Whites when they were asked to evaluate members of their in- and out-group.

Is a cause conceptualized as a generative force?: evidence from a recognition memory paradigm

Article Abstract:

A study on the social psychology of causation examined research subjects who read situational vignettes where mental antecedents were correlated with the behavior of a target figure. Topics addressed include the relationship between memory recognition and causal attribution.

Stopping dead in one's tracks: Motor inhibition following incidental evaluations

Article Abstract:

An examination is conducted of whether incidental exposure to negative stimuli is capable of showing the speed of voluntary motor behavior. Results indicate that in certain cases, the mere presence of negative stimuli inhibits the speed of subsequent motor behavior.
