Commentary: neoliberal landscapes of deception: Detroit, Ford Field, and the Ford Motor Company
Article Abstract:
Ford Field, the domed stadium in which the Detroit Lions play their home football games, and where the Super Bowl XL is scheduled to take place, is the centerpiece of Detroit's new downtown landscape. The exposed interior roof beams of Ford Field, with narrow opaque windowpanes on the east and west walls of the structure, depict the automobile production facilities that used to dominate the Detroit metro region.

A method for matching data from the 1980 and 1990 Public Use Microdata Samples of the U.S. Census with respect to the 100 most populous metropolitan areas is outlined. The data is used in comparative urban analysis.
