Treatment of the terminally ill
Article Abstract:
Both J.-C. Weeks et al, in their report to the Journal of the American Medical Assn, and Dr Diane Meier want doctors to provide terminally ill cancer patients with quality time. They also agree on using a 6-month time limit to describe 'terminal.' Meier is concerned with the use of coercion in the acceptance of assisted suicide but respects the wishes of patients. Meier advocates for the legalization of physician-assisted suicide.
