Cooperation under uncertainty: what is new, what is true, and what is important

Article Abstract:

Peter Kollock wrote about the iterated Prisoner's Dilemma (IPD) under monitoring uncertainty or noise in a 1993 study. The study repeated a problem, the compromise between vulnerability and exploitation, which was already identified earlier in 1984. Kollock's computer simulation solution using a round robin approach to address the IPD has also been applied in earlier research. Thus, his conclusions on a noisy IPD with cooperation and uncertainty variables only duplicated earlier work.
