Fetal issue and Parkinson's disease
Article Abstract:
An experimental treatment of Parkinson's disease involved fetal tissue implantation into the brains of those afflicted with the disease. However, federal laws prohibiting the use of fetal tissue from abortion and its use on research had made the experimental surgery expensive. Some opposed the surgical procedure because there were no evidence of its effectiveness. The experimental design was also found to be rather dubious. If the patients have to pay, they should at least be guaranteed of its positive effect.
