Petrobusiness and security threats in the Niger Delta, Nigeria
Article Abstract:
The paradigm shift and various methods of conflict management practiced in the oil industry, especially among the three largest transitional oil companies (TNOCs) in Nigeria, Shell, Mobil and Chevron are highlighted. It is observed that the paradigm shift has considerable implications for both the oil conflict and security in the Nigerian oil region.

A transcription is presented of a tribute to demographer Frederick Osborn by Frank Notestein, during the 34th Annual Meeting of the Population Assn of America in April 1969. Osborn's contributions included advancing research in eugenics, population and demography.
