NAHRO's 2006 Awards of Excellence for program innovation in affordable housing
Article Abstract:
All the four winners of NAHRO's Awards of Excellence for affordable housing that identified a population in need consisting of the elderly, low-income and veterans sought out feasible solutions to meet those needs. Recognizing the declining federal and state funding, the Dakota County Community Development Agency has created the Housing Opportunities Enhancement Program as a way to encourage production of affordable housing and provide loans to housing developers who create or preserve affordable rental and owner-occupied housing in Dakota County.
