The effectiveness of court appointed special advocates to assist in permanency planning
Article Abstract:
The efforts to move children through the court system in an efficient and timely manner was analyzed by comparing outcome measures of two groups of children. The first group had a court appointed special advocate (CASA) assigned to it while the other group had no CASA. The results showed that children who were assigned to a CASA spent less time under the wardship of the court. In addition, the group had fewer placements and were more likely to achieve permanency in their reunification with their parents.

Introduction
Article Abstract:
The heritage of sociology should be examined to discover methodologies that will reinforce the validity of the science. Sociology has become fragmented, with no defined structure or discipline and overlap in objective research. It has also incorporated other disciplines, such as the natural sciences and the humanities. A review of sociology's past can provide foundations for its future.
