Talking across the differences in collaborative fieldwork: unanticipated consequences
Article Abstract:
Sociologists should have fresh viewpoints on how they can 'talk across differences' in collaborative fieldwork. Collaboration refers to the sprouting of mutual interests between researchers and subjects. Oftentimes, relationships formed in the field lead to unanticipated consequences. Sociologists should focus on finding respectful approaches to understanding the complexity of the social world.

The effects of occupational gender segregation across race
Article Abstract:
The study conducted to investigate the occupational gender segregation effects across Whites, African Americans, Hispanics, and Asians, are discussed. The findings suggest that both segregation effects contribute to earnings inequality and that effects are observed quite broadly across racial/ethnic groups.

Investigation of the ways in which patients' reports of their satisfaction with healthcare are constructed

The authors advocate methods of inquiry that access how patients develop opinions of their health care experiences, rather than relying solely on their opinions, in order to more appropriately address concerns regarding satisfaction.
