The economic consequences of divorce are still unequal: comment on Peterson
Article Abstract:
Scholar Richard R. Peterson's allegations of erroneous statistics in the book, 'The Divorce Revolution,' is unfounded. The book, on the contrary, successfully showed evidence showing the unfair economic treatment of laws on women and children after divorce. The persuasive effect of the book on public policy was caused by the gap between divorced husbands and wives created by law rather than by the impact of the alleged statistic.
