Al Hornsby's dream of becoming a diver was nurtured as a boy of 12 while living in Guam. He never let go of this dream and even worked as a dive instructor. He took pictures, wrote stories and sent these to publishers of dive magazines. He was later invited to be an editor of Skin Diver.

John La Farge and the Judson Memorial Church
Article Abstract:
The colored glass windows of Judson Memorial Church in Washington Square in New York City is one of John La Farge accomplishments though he did not see its completion due to funding problems. The glass designs depict saints made in Italian styles and have marble- and stone-like effect.

Weaves of grass
Article Abstract:
Basket weaving is still very much a part of African-American culture in South Carolina, particularly the area around Charleston. The tradition has been passed down since plantation days and uses the area sweetgrass. Basket stands are a common site in the area.
