Lobstermania! South Florida's annual crustacean convergence occurs July 23 to 24

Lobstermania happens in South Florida every year to celebrate the lobster season. During the two-day celebration, sports divers are allowed to do lobster hunting on the reefs before commercial traps are set. Those who have mastered the art of lobster tickling emerge as the true lobster hunters.

Dixie Divers' Lobstermania

Florida-based dive shop Dixie Divers is gearing up for the annual Lobstermania in July 1995. The tournament is open to all divers and winners are judged according to cumulative points based on the weight of their catch. The diver who catches the biggest lobster will bring home $35,000.
