Article Abstract:

Two marine radar systems were evaluated in a Hatteras 60: the full-size Furuno FR-8100D ($11,195) and the compact Furuno 1621 ($1,495). The less expensive 1621 was judged competent for use in a small boat, but the larger 8100D is necessary for overnight offshore trips.
