Older PGA tour players routinely go out of their way to help the younger tour members feel more comfortable. This type of altruistic behavior has its roots in the previous generation of golfers who did not always share the same generous attitude.

Slow burn

Article Abstract:

Jeff Sluman refused to pay a $1,000 fine for slow play in the 1997 B.C. Open. Sluman claimed there were mitigating circumstances and that other golfers in his group were given the benefit of the doubt when they exceeded time limits.
