Article Abstract:

The effects of stress on the blood pressure and heart rates of postmenopausal women, can be very deleterious. A study of 450 adults revealed that when stressed, such women experienced three times as many heart dysfunctional episodes as did men or younger women under similar stresses.

Article Abstract:

A diet rich in beta-carotene can reduce heart attack and stroke risk in women. A study of 87,245 women conducted by Dr. JoAnn E. Manson of Boston's Brigham and Women's hospital found a 22% coronary reduction and a 40% stroke reduction over eight years.

High-risk hearts: being overweight can be worse on a young man's ticker

Article Abstract:

Research suggests that the negative effects of being overweight may be stronger for younger than for older men. Younger overweight men have been shown to be at greater risk for hypertension, high blood pressure, and hyperglycemia than older men.
