Article Abstract:

A study of postmenopausal women indicates that women who use estrogen-replacement therapy have a 45% lower risk of terminal colon cancer. The theory is that estrogen may decrease bile acids. Other beneficial activities for the colon include exercise and fiber in the diet.

Nature knows best: whole foods may be best for colon

Article Abstract:

Recent research shows that eating whole fruits and vegetables helps to prevent colon cancer, while vitamin supplements alone are not effective prevention. Patients given vitamin supplements are just as likely to develop tumorous growths as patients given none.

Research has linked mental ability to levels of the vitamins B6, B12, and folate in the blood. Men with the highest levels of these vitamins in their blood performed better on tests of mental ability than men with the lowest levels.
