Reduced heterogeneity of muscle deoxygenation during heavy bicycle exercise

Article Abstract:

The heterogeneity of muscle deoxygenation dynamics in a single muscle during heavy bicycle exercise using an eight-channel near-infrared continuous wave spectroscopy mapping method is studied. The results indicate that at lower exercise workloads, the muscle deoxygenation in a single muscle was more heterogeneous and at lower workloads variations in the muscle deoxygenation heterogeneity between the subjects was also observed.

Biochemical and hormonal responses during an intercollegiate football season

Article Abstract:

Changes in biochemical indices of muscle damage and hormonal markers of stress are examined during a competitive intercollegiate football season. It is concluded that biochemical and endocrine responses during a season of intercollegiate football competition suggest a degree of sensitization of the muscles relating to the repeated traumas occurring during the season.

Effect of muscle oxygenation during resistance exercise on anabolic hormone response

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to examine the effect of training intensity on muscle oxygenation and to examine the relationship between muscle deoxygenation and the anabolic hormonal response. The study showed no apparent difference between resistance exercise protocols of low-intensity, high-volume and high-intensity, low-volume on muscle deoxygenation.
