Hunters who use tree stands should check thoroughly that the stand is in good, usable condition. Hunters have been killed after stands have collapsed or they have fallen. Safety measures and caring for injuries are described.

Fatal fumes

Article Abstract:

Carbon monoxide poisoning kills more than 3,500 annually. Hunters and campers are at greater risk for suffering oxygen deprivation because they often use equipment or techniques that lead to the build up of carbon monoxide.
