Keeping young children safe and happy on board requires imagination and common sense and it is advisable that for every child on board a boat, safety demands that you take at least one extra adult. Randall Peffer and wife Jackie through their experiences have evolved a number of strategies for sailing with a child.

Article Abstract:

Two men attempted to reconstruct the small-boat adventures of the Pilgrims by sailing on Cape Cod Bay aboard an 18-foot Sanderling. They visited various ports that were explored by the Pilgrims and followed the Pilgrim's course to the Pamet River as they worked their way to Plymouth, MA.
