The relationship between grading and instrumented measurements of anterior knee joint laxity

Article Abstract:

The relationship between certified athletic trainers' grading of anterior knee laxity and instrumented measurements of anterior tibial translation is investigated. Clinical judgments and instrumented measurements were found to be mutually independent, indicating the need for caution during clinical decision-making.

Etiology of patellar tendinopathy in athletes

Article Abstract:

The etiology of patellar tendinopathy as it relates to clinical management of chronic patellar-tendon disease in athletes is examined. Inflammatory response and degenerative changes result in the complex process of pathoetiology of patellar tendinopathy.

Vastus medialis activation during knee extension exercises: evidence for exercise prescription

Article Abstract:

The study compares vastus medialis (VM) activation during a straight leg raise (SLR) to weight-bearing knee extension exercises. SLR is found to have greater activation than the single leg stance and bilateral squat exercises.
