Article Abstract:

According to the Definitions section, right before the beginning of the U.S. Golf Association's Rules of Golf, a player is allowed up to 24 associated people to accompany him around the course. This group can include fellow players, a caddie, forecaddies, a referee, a marker, an observer, the committee, and outside agencies.

Article Abstract:

The Ryder Cup currently uses a virtual blind draw to arrange its matches, thus taking away from each captain an important strategic aspect of the tournament. Future Ryder Cups should allow the captains more input into determining the individual matchups for that day's matches.

The US Golf Assoc's Equitable Stroke Control system simplifies the method of computing a handicap. The system gives a psychological lift to golfers with handicaps below 10, because their maximum score is six, regardless of a hole's par.
