Young people's motivational profiles in physical activity: a cluster analysis

Article Abstract:

This article examines the psychological factors associated with motivation and physical activity in adolescents. A cluster analysis of data from a national survey indicates that exercise motivation includes determinants such as goal orientation, perceived athletic competence, and self-determination.

Testing self-determined motivation as a mediator of the relationship between psychological needs and affective and behavioral outcomes

Article Abstract:

A study to analyze the help of self-determined motivation in mediating the relationship between the psychological needs and the affective and behavioral outcomes is presented. The relationship is found to be very complex.

Examining the physical self in adolescent girls over time: further evidence against the hierarchical model

A research is conducted to test the hierarchical nature of self-concept. Structural equation model, specifically the Physical Self-Perception Profile (PSPP) model with or without global self-esteem is used for testing.
