NATM MEMBERS HUNKER DOWN AS U.S. ECONOMY SLOWS
Article Abstract:
NATM Buying Corp members are preparing for a sales slowdown, although they expect it to be short-term. Many of the consortium's dealers carried major appliance inventory into 2001, and some cut jobs in support operations. NATM officials do not expect the impact to be severe but note the need for greater efficiency in close rates, advertising and operations. Audio/video product sales remain strong, especially in digital TVs.
