A survey of drivers' attitudes toward speed limit violations
Article Abstract:
A survey of the reasons for speed limit violations in Greece based on drivers' attitude toward road accidents using discriminant analysis reveals that over-confidence about the driving potentials, being in haste, underestimating the hazards associated with speeding and the desire to impress others are the main reasons for speed limit violations. A safety campaign for young, male, educated drivers who travel extensively should educate them on the need for driving within speed limits.

Factors affecting drivers' choice of speed on roadway curves
Article Abstract:
A survey on 207 Greek drivers reveals that four factors influence the driver's choice of speed such as cross-section characteristics, separation of opposing traffic, signing and alignment. The driver's behavior can be ascertained more effectively through attitude surveys than through traffic observations. Providing dependable road signs and setting safe and consistent low-speed alignments will reduce speed violations.

An empirical investigation of European drivers' self-assessment
